Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. is seeking a National Leader of the Ophthalmology Account Management Team to guide a field force focused on Retina practices and large networks. You will drive strategic engagement across SAMs, BEMs, Field Sales, and Medical, ensuring compliant, high-impact customer programs.

The role reports to the US Franchise Leader of Ophthalmology and participates in the Franchise Leadership Team, with travel up to 50% and a focus on market access and patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• 12+ years of progressive pharmaceutical, biotech, or related industry experience.
• 7+ years of experience in managing direct reports.
• 5+ years of demonstrated experience in strategic/key account management with enterprise level customer engagement.

Responsibilities

• Establish, recruit and oversee Ophthalmology Account Management Team, including National Account Directors and Key Account Managers across geographies.
• Shape the strategic direction of the Ophthalmology franchise as a member of the US Ophthalmology Leadership Team.
• Serve as internal expert on key ophthalmology engagements, advising senior leadership.
• Provide strategic oversight and executive sponsorship for key accounts, maintaining high-level engagement with C-suite.
