Job summary

First American's Direct division seeks an energetic Escrow Officer to join our National Residential Team. This client-facing role works with buyers, sellers, and lenders to clear title issues, create settlement statements, prepare closing packages, and schedule closings, primarily via mail-in processes.

The position emphasizes exceptional communication, multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment, and a strong customer-service mindset to support a smooth closing process.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of escrow-related experience.
• Experience handling escrow transactions directly.
• Willingness to adopt new technology and proprietary programs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with internal and external customers.
• Problem solver with strong organizational skills, detail-oriented.
• Thrive in a team to deliver beyond customer expectations.
• Able to guide and support future talent learning the business.
• Proficient with MS Office and quick to adapt to new software.
• Valid licensing/certification as required by state.

Responsibilities

• Complete real estate escrow transactions by determining requirements.
• Act as a neutral liaison between file parties, adhering to policy and mitigating risk.
• Ensure all funds are properly accounted for and disbursed per contract and policy.
• Prepare regular escrow status reports for involved parties.
• Examine titles, mortgages, and trust deed documents.
• Prepare closing documents for the sale closure.
• Complete closing by recording and filing documents and distributing closing statements.
