Job summary

Otsuka America Pharmaceutical Inc. seeks a senior Medical Affairs leader to deliver value evidence for national accounts, shaping medical strategy across MML and payer collaborations. Qualifications

• Advanced degree required: Doctoral degree (PharmD., M.D. or PhD) strongly preferred in Pharmacy, Medicine, Biological Sciences, Health Services Research or Public Health.
• 7+ years of Managed care or similar experience within the pharmaceutical industry. 1-2+ years of MML or equivalent experience required.
• Understanding US healthcare system at national level including payer landscape, PBMs, vertical integration.
• Knowledge of clinical and pharmacoeconomic concepts including modeling, real-world evidence and health outcomes.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to work in evolving environment independently and collaboratively.
• Patient-first mindset with ability to identify customer needs and opportunities for improved patient outcomes.
• Strategic thinking combining business acumen and clinical expertise.

Responsibilities

• Deliver evidence-based healthcare economic and clinical information demonstrating portfolio value to national accounts.
• Lead development and execution of medical strategy for national accounts with senior directors.
• Communicate payer coverage changes to Field Medical Affairs and develop downstream strategies.
• Collaborate with national payer stakeholders to educate and improve patient outcomes using unbranded resources.
• Lead remote customer engagement projects and payer-aligned platforms.
• Build relationships with national health care decision makers and communicate market insights to matrix partners.
• Liaise with Medical Strategy, GVRWE and other stakeholders to implement strategy.
• Provide strategic input in support of market access and payer activities; influence cross-functional teams.
• Provide clinical and health outcomes training for Market Access partners.
• Update resources with FMA Training team and communicate training needs for MML.
• Lead medical congress activities at national payer congresses.
• Foster collaborative environment and mentor regional MMLs aligning with Otsuka values.
• Serve as Medical Affairs landscape expert at national level.
• Communicate national payer developments to leadership and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Serve as cultural ambassador within FMA nationally across therapeutic areas.
