Job summary

Supabase is seeking an engineer to advance Multigres, a distributed database system built on Postgres. You will architect and implement core infrastructure, including sharding, consensus, and materialization, collaborating with Postgres, networking, and infra teams on scalable distributed DB solutions.

You will design query routing, build replication systems, and contribute to open-source efforts, joining a globally distributed team that values async work, ESOP, and developer-first tooling.

Qualifications

• Deep technical expertise in distributed databases and systems.
• Knowledge of sharding, transactions, and Postgres internals.
• Experience with consensus protocols and distributed durability.
• Familiarity with stream processing and materialization concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement query routing logic for sharded databases.
• Build consensus and replication systems to support distributed durability.
• Develop materialization pipelines for migrations and change data capture.
• Contribute to connection pooling infrastructure and workload isolation.
• Collaborate with the open-source community on Multigres development.
