Job summary

SHI, a leading IT solutions provider, seeks a Systems Engineer to join our MSP team. You will implement and manage Windows Server environments, AD, and Microsoft infrastructure across multiple clients, with hybrid identity and cloud integrations.

The role emphasizes collaboration with technical peers, on-call support, and documentation. A strong background in Hyper-V/VMware, scripting, and security hardening is required for success.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant MSP/enterprise experience in systems engineering or similar roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server versions, lifecycle, patching, security, and performance monitoring.
• Hands-on experience with AD DS, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, certificate services, and identity troubleshooting.
• Experience with IIS, RDS, file services, failover clustering, and SQL Server infrastructure dependencies.
• Experience with Hyper-V/VMware, VM lifecycle, clustering, capacity, performance, and high availability.
• PowerShell for administration, data collection, and automation.
• Familiarity with enterprise server hardware, storage, and recovery processes.

Responsibilities

• Implement, administer, and support Windows Server environments for multiple MSP customers.
• Deploy, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot Microsoft infrastructure services.
• Support hybrid identity solutions integrating on-prem AD with Entra ID and sync technologies.
• Install and maintain server applications, middleware, and dependencies.
• Participate in server builds, upgrades, migrations, and data center modernization.
• Troubleshoot OS, authentication, application, virtualization, and storage issues; escalate as needed.
• Apply security hardening, patching, and privileged-access controls.
• Maintain and improve HA solutions using clustering, load balancing, and disaster recovery.
• Create PowerShell scripts for admin tasks, reporting, and health checks.
• Document build procedures, support docs, and knowledge articles; support transition to operations.
• Collaborate with networking, security, cloud, and database teams; provide on-call support.
