Qualifications

• Master's degree in Physics or related field is required; PhD preferred.
• Texas License in Medical Physics specialty required.
• Board Certification by ABR or equivalent board certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise in Diagnostic Radiological Physics and Medical Nuclear Physics.
• Serve as primary Radiation Safety Officer liaison with Texas DHS and ensure compliance.
• Develop and evaluate radiation safety policies and minimize patient/staff exposure.
• Oversee equipment performance evaluations for x-ray, CT, MRI, and ultrasound.
• Perform dosimetry and shielding calculations to meet regulatory standards.
• Coordinate with architects on radiological shielding and space planning.
• Lead quarterly reviews and participate in radiation safety committees.
• Assist accreditation processes with ACR and regulatory surveys.
• Guide acquisition testing of new imaging equipment and system performance.
• Ensure safe care; adhere to Memorial Hermann policies within budget and schedule.
• Support professional growth and act as mentor to junior staff.
