Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System seeks a Medical Physicist to implement and maintain advanced imaging technologies across a large health system. This home-based role focuses on CT and MRI protocol development, vendor partnerships, and shaping imaging initiatives with the imaging leadership.

You will lead safety programs, report to the Director of Radiation Safety, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to continuously improve medical physics services across the organization.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in physics or related field required; PhD preferred.
• Texas license in Medical Physics required for eligibility.
• Board certification by ABR/ABNM or equivalent preferred.
• Clinical experience post-graduate training is favorable.

Responsibilities

• Provides expertise in Diagnostic Radiological Physics and Medical Nuclear Physics.
• Acts as primary Radiation Safety Officer liaison to regulatory authorities.
• Develops and evaluates radiation safety policies to minimize exposure.
• Oversees equipment performance evaluations for X-ray and MRI modalities.
• Performs dosimetry and shielding calculations to meet regulatory standards.
• Collaborates with health physicists on radiation incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Participates in Radiation Protocol and Safety Committees to ensure best practices.
• Supports accreditations with ACR and coordinates new equipment testing.
