Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a Medical Physicist for a home-based role to lead CT and MRI protocol development, with a focus on cardiac imaging. You will partner with vendors to evaluate new technologies, guide imaging initiatives, and advise imaging leadership on equipment and purchasing decisions.

The position involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, maintaining regulatory compliance, and reporting to the Director of Radiation Safety.

Qualifications

• Clinical experience post graduate training preferred.
• Four (4) years of related experience preferred.
• Member of the American Association of Physicist in Medicine or other equivalent professional society.
• Eligible to be the principal Radiation Safety Officer for RAM licenses and COR for X-ray registrations.

Responsibilities

• Provides expertise in Diagnostic Radiological Physics and Medical Nuclear Physics.
• Carries out responsibilities of the primary Radiation Safety Officer for RAM licenses and COR.
• Develops radiation safety policies to minimize patient and staff exposure.
• Oversees equipment performance evaluations and image quality assessments.
• Performs dosimetry and shielding calculations to meet regulatory standards.
• Leads radiation safety committees and participates in accreditation processes.
• Coordinates acceptance testing of new imaging equipment and shielding evaluations.
