Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a Medical Physicist for a home-based position to influence the imaging process across the health system, leading CT and MRI protocol development and coordinating with vendors on new technologies.

You will work with the imaging leadership and health physics team, provide expert guidance on shielding, regulatory compliance, and safety practices, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Physics, Health Physics, Radiological/Medical Physics or related field required; PhD preferred.
• Texas License in Medical Physics specialty required.
• Board certification by ABR or equivalent medical physics board.
• Clinical experience post graduate training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides expertise in Diagnostic Radiological Physics and Medical Nuclear Physics.
• Carries out the responsibilities of the Radiation Safety Officer for X-Ray registrations and RAM licenses.
• Assists in development and evaluation of radiation safety policies to minimize exposure.
• Oversees EPEs for imaging equipment and evaluates image quality issues.
• Coordinates shielding calculations and regulatory compliance efforts.
• Collaborates with health physicists on radiation incidents and corrective actions.
• Participates in RPC/RSC meetings to ensure best practices.
• Assists with accreditation processes through ACR as needed.
