Qualifications

• Clinical experience post graduate training preferred.
• Four (4) years of related experience preferred.
• Member of the American Association of Physicist in Medicine or other equivalent professional society.
• Eligible to be the principal Radiation Safety Officer for both Radioactive Material licenses and Certificate of X-ray registrations as defined by Texas Administration Code §289.

Responsibilities

• Provides expertise in both Diagnostic Radiological Physics and Medical Nuclear Physics.
• Serves as primary Radiation Safety Officer for X-Ray Registration and RAM licenses.
• Assists in development and evaluation of radiation safety policies and practices.
• Oversees Equipment Performance Evaluations (EPE) of x-ray equipment and imaging modalities.
• Performs dosimetry and shielding calculations to meet regulatory requirements.
• Coordinates acceptance testing of new imaging equipment and advises on shielding and system performance.
• Ensures safe care and adherence to Memorial Hermann policies and budgets.
