Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a Medical Physicist for a home-based role to lead CT and MRI protocol development, especially in cardiac imaging, and to collaborate with vendors on new imaging technologies.

You will advise imaging leadership on equipment and purchasing decisions while contributing to continuous improvement of the medical physics program within a large health system.

Qualifications

• Master of Science in Physics, Health Physics, Radiological Physics, Medical Physics, or related field required.
• PhD preferred.
• Texas License in Medical Physics specialty required.
• Board Certification by ABR or ABMS Medical Physics or Health Physics board certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise in Diagnostic Radiological Physics and Medical Nuclear Physics.
• Act as primary Radiation Safety Officer for X-Ray Registration and RAM licenses.
• Develop and evaluate radiation safety policies to minimize patient and staff exposure.
• Oversee equipment performance evaluations for radiology and imaging systems.
• Coordinate shielding evaluations and regulatory surveys with health physics team.
