Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a Medical Physicist to lead CT and MRI protocol development, partnering with vendors to evaluate new technologies and guide imaging initiatives. The role supports the in-house physics team, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance across the imaging portfolio.

The position involves advising imaging leadership, developing programs, and maintaining regulatory alignment, with opportunities for professional development and leadership in radiation safety

Qualifications

• Master of Science in Physics, Health Physics, Radiological Physics, Medical Physics, or related field required; PhD preferred.
• Texas License in Medical Physics specialty required.
• Board Certification by the American Board of Radiology or American Board Science of Nuclear Medicine or American Board of Health Physics or other nationally recognized medical physics board certification.
• Clinical experience post graduate training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides expertise in Diagnostic Radiological Physics and Medical Nuclear Physics.
• Acts as primary Radiation Safety Officer for X-Ray Registration and RAM licenses.
• Oversight of radiation safety policies and procedures to minimize exposure.
• Coordinates shielding evaluations and system performance requirements for imaging equipment.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory surveys, inspections and accreditations.
