Job summary

Qualifications

• MS in Physics, Health Physics, Radiological Physics, Medical Physics or related field required; PhD preferred.
• Texas License in Medical Physics specialty required.
• Board Certification by ABR or ABMS or other recognized medical physics board.

Responsibilities

• Provides expertise in Diagnostic Radiological Physics and Medical Nuclear Physics.
• Serves as primary Radiation Safety Officer for X-Ray Registration and RAM licenses.
• Assists in developing radiation safety policies to minimize exposure.
• Oversees Equipment Performance Evaluations (EPE) for imaging equipment.
• Performs dosimetry and shielding calculations to meet regulatory standards.
• Coordinates acceptance testing of new imaging equipment and shielding evaluations.
• Supports accreditation activities with the ACR as needed.
• Promotes ongoing education and professional development.
