Qualifications

• Education: Master of Science in Physics, Health Physics, Radiological Physics, Medical Physics, or related field required.
• PhD preferred.
• License/Certification: Texas License in Medical Physics specialty required; Boards as listed.

Responsibilities

• Provides expertise in Diagnostic Radiological Physics and Medical Nuclear Physics.
• Acts as primary Radiation Safety Officer for X-Ray registrations and RAM licenses.
• Develops radiation safety policies and minimizes patient/staff exposure.
• Oversees Equipment Performance Evaluations for x-ray and imaging equipment.
• Coordinates testing of new imaging equipment and advises on shielding and performance requirements.
