Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System seeks a Medical Physicist to lead CT and MRI protocol development across a large health system. As part of an in-house physics team, you will partner with vendors to evaluate technologies, guide new imaging initiatives, and advise imaging leadership on equipment decisions.

You will report to the Director of Radiation Safety and contribute to continuous improvement of medical physics services.

Qualifications

• Education: MS in Physics/Health/Medical Physics or related field; PhD preferred.
• Licensure: Texas Medical Physics license required.
• Board certification or eligibility in a radiology/health physics track is listed as acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Provides expertise in Diagnostic Radiological Physics and Medical Nuclear Physics.
• Acts as primary Radiation Safety Officer liaison to regulatory bodies.
• Oversees radiation safety policies, shielding calculations, and EPEs for imaging equipment.
• Leads RPC/RSC meetings and supports accreditations with ACR as needed.
• Coordinates equipment acceptance testing and advises on safety and compliance.
