Job summary

Providence South Mortgage, LLC is seeking a remote Mortgage Loan Originator (1099 contractor) to guide clients from initial contact through closing. You will prepare loan applications, coordinate with underwriters and processors, and ensure compliance with lending regulations.

The ideal candidate has licensing in Alabama (or eligibility) and experience in mortgage brokerage or banking, with a focus on clear communication and strong client service.

Qualifications

• Experience in mortgage lending, originations, and loan processing.
• Ability to analyze finances and underwrite decisions.
• Strong communication to explain complex information to clients.
• Self-motivated, able to manage multiple files remotely and independently.
• Knowledge of residential mortgage products, regulations and fair lending standards.
• Proficiency with loan origination systems and basic office software tools.
• Current or prior MLO licensing in Alabama, or eligibility to obtain licenses.
• Experience in mortgage brokerage, banking, or financial services; sales/customer-facing background is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Guide clients through the mortgage process from initial contact to closing.
• Prepare and submit accurate loan applications; coordinate with underwriters, processors and closing agents.
• Ensure compliance with lending regulations and company policies.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients and referral partners; provide ongoing support toward homeownership.
