Job summary

Golden 1 Credit Union in Carlsbad, CA is seeking a Home Loan Advisor - External who will originate mortgage loans from self-sourced relationships, discuss products by phone, email or in person, and guide members through the selection and disclosures required by law.

You will analyze financial data, manage the loan pipeline, comply with RESPA and related regulations, and provide ongoing updates to applicants from origination to close.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 5+ years in a mortgage-related function with at least 2 years of self-sourced business.

Responsibilities

• Originate mortgage loans from self-sourced relationships, discussing options by phone, email or in person.
• Assist members with product selection, lock requests and required disclosures.
• Analyze financial and credit data to identify underwriting concerns upfront.
• Maintain knowledge of state/federal laws (RESPA, HPML, HOEPA, ATR/QM, AML) related to the role.
• Manage mortgage loan pipeline to ensure timely processing and high service levels.
• Oversee loan process from origination to close and communicate with applicants.
• Collaborate with mortgage resource center and operations to move loans forward.
• Notate conversations with members in the LOS for clear communication.
