Job summary

Southern New Hampshire University seeks a Modern Workplace Engineering Manager to lead a team across Microsoft 365, endpoint management, collaboration, and identity. You’ll drive technical design, troubleshooting, automation, and security, while coaching engineers and managing priorities.

This role supports remote work across states and reports to the Director of Modern Workplace Engineering. You’ll establish standards, review designs, coordinate delivery, and partner on platform strategy,

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive experience in Microsoft 365, endpoint engineering, infrastructure, systems administration, Modern Workplace technologies, or related field.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience in lieu of degree acceptable.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 administration and at least two major Modern Workplace disciplines.
• Experience reviewing technical designs, scripts, configurations, implementation plans, and operational documentation.
• Demonstrated coaching of technical employees, performance management, and career development.
• Experience managing competing operational priorities, escalations, projects, and technical resources.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical leadership across Microsoft 365, endpoint management, collaboration, identity, security, automation, and device-management technologies.
• Serve as a senior escalation point for complex incidents, service disruptions, and architectural decisions.
• Participate in technical discovery, solution design, configuration, testing, deployment, and documentation.
• Review designs, plans, scripts, and procedures for quality, security, and scalability.
• Manage work intake, prioritization, resource assignment, execution, and follow-through.
• Establish standards, engineering practices, and accountability expectations.
• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance discussions, and technical coaching.
• Identify skill gaps and create opportunities for cross-training and mentoring.
• Partner on platform strategy, architecture, workforce planning, budgeting, and vendor management.
• Coordinate delivery across Microsoft 365, Intune, Windows, macOS, MECM, Autopilot, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Entra ID, Power Platform, Copilot.
