Job summary

CSAA Insurance Group is hiring a Model Risk Advisor - Remote to promote governance practices, maintain AI policies, and tighten controls across the enterprise. This role partners with risk, compliance, and data teams to monitor model performance, ensure regulatory alignment, and drive continuous improvement in AI governance.

You will engage with the AI community, maintain model inventories, assess risk, and support validation activities.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in Model risk management related practices, risk, and audit.
• Knowledge of compliance monitoring and/or auditing principles.
• Knowledge of privacy, security, and AI Model governance standards.
• Capable of communicating technical information to diverse audiences.
• Experience in deploying AI Model governance and risk programs across a large enterprise.

Responsibilities

• Engage with the enterprise AI community to promote awareness, understanding, and adoption of AI governance policies, standards, and responsible AI practices.
• Establish and maintain a complete inventory of statistical, machine learning, AI, and GenAI models, including ownership, risk ratings, and required model metadata.
• Assess model risk based on complexity, regulatory requirements, business impact, and usage, and identify emerging risks.
• Implement and maintain Model Risk Management frameworks, processes, controls, policies, standards, and procedures.
• Monitor model performance, governance controls, KRIs, and compliance with policies and standards, calling out issues as appropriate.
• Support model validation and testing activities by defining scope, assessing results, documenting findings, and communicating recommendations.
• Participate in AI Model Governance oversight activities, including audits, peer reviews, governance reviews, and risk assessments.
• Develop reporting, metrics, and executive-level insights on AI governance, model risk, and control effectiveness.
• Partner with internal teams, Enterprise Risk, auditors, and external suppliers to maintain documentation and address risks.
• Monitor evolving regulatory and Department of Insurance expectations related to AI and model risk.
• Find opportunities to improve, automate, and streamline AI governance processes, tools, and controls.
• Evaluate governance processes and tools, resolve issues, and recommend improvements.
