Job summary

Premera Blue Cross is seeking a Membership Specialist II to perform complex reconciliation analyses, enrollment and billing tasks, and respond to member and broker inquiries. The role supports financial risk management and customer satisfaction across Individual or Group accounts.

Ideal candidates have accounting/finance experience, and familiarity with Excel/Access. This position offers a hybrid work option and a clear path for growth within the health insurer.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Two years accounting/finance/bookkeeping experience or an Associate’s degree.
• One year experience as Membership Analyst I or in Premera with reconciliation experience.
• Health or insurance industry experience preferred.
• Associates or Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify, resolve, and document complex reconciliation discrepancies.
• Process refunds, premium transfers, reinstatements, and NSF issues.
• Enrollment changes and accurate notes.
• Use Access or Excel to update eligibility and enrollment.
• Meet department metrics for production and quality.
• Educate members/brokers on enrollment and billing processes.
• Respond to member/broker/internal calls timely.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
