Job summary

Premera Blue Cross is seeking a Membership Specialist II to perform moderate to complex reconciliation analysis and billing tasks for individual or group accounts. The role handles enrollment, reconciliation, and related inquiries, ensuring accurate notes and timely processing across refunds, transfers, and premium issues.

In this telecommuter role, you will leverage Excel and Access to audit accounts, educate members and brokers, and maintain adherence to contractual guidelines and regulatory

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Two years of accounting/finance/bookkeeping experience or an Associate’s Degree.
• One year of experience as Membership Analyst I or in a Premera position with reconciliation experience.
• Health or insurance industry experience required.

Responsibilities

• Identify, resolve, and document complex reconciliation discrepancies and process refunds.
• Validate accounts receivable by detailed reconciliation of premiums and membership.
• Use Access or Excel to update eligibility, enrollment, and reconciliation.
• Meet department metrics for production and quality standards.
• Create written correspondence regarding billing and enrollment issues.
• Educate members, brokers, or groups on membership and billing processes.
• Resolve enrollment system rejections and ensure timely data maintenance.
