Job summary

Premera Blue Cross is seeking a Membership Specialist II to perform complex reconciliation analysis and audit activities for Individual or Group accounts receivable. You will work with reconciliation databases, receipts, and basic accounting principles, resolving enrollment, reconciliation, and billing issues while coaching internal and external customers on contractual guidelines.

Role requires proficiency with Excel/Access and ability to meet department metrics.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Two years accounting/finance/bookkeeping experience or an Associate’s Degree in accounting/finance/bookkeeping required.
• One year experience as Membership Analyst I or in a Premera position with reconciliation experience required.
• Health or insurance industry experience preferred.
• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify, resolve, and document complex reconciliation discrepancies independently.
• Process refunds, premium transfers, reinstatements, and insufficient fund issues.
• Update enrollment and/or eligibility changes as needed and maintain notes.
• Utilize tools/reports in Access or Excel to aid eligibility, enrollment, and reconciliation of accounts.
• Educate members, brokers, or groups on billing processes and contract interpretation.
