Job summary

Premera Blue Cross is seeking a Membership Specialist II to perform moderate to complex reconciliation analyses and audits for Individual or Group accounts receivable, ensuring accuracy in enrollment and billing. The role emphasizes problem-solving, compliance with regulations, and customer-facing guidance.

Based in Pacific/Mountain/Central Time Zones with 7am–5pm PT hours, the position offers growth in healthcare financial operations and collaboration with internal and external partners.

Qualifications

• Two years of accounting/finance/bookkeeping experience required.
• One year of membership analysis or Premera experience.
• Health or insurance industry experience.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Associates or Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify, resolve and document complex reconciliation discrepancies, process refunds and enrollment changes.
• Validate accounts receivable through detailed reconciliation and audits of premiums and membership.
• Use Access or Excel to update eligibility and enrollment data.
• Meet department metrics for production and quality standards.
• Communicate with members/brokers about billing and enrollment issues.
• Investigate and resolve enrollment system rejections and billing discrepancies.
