Go Lean Health is seeking a Medical Virtual Assistant to support a busy clinic remotely. The role emphasizes proactive, detail-oriented work, ownership of key workflows, and strong English communication.

Expect to tackle insurance verification, claims processing, EOBs, patient balances, and reporting while maintaining high accountability and trust with the care team. The position is 30 hours per week, remote, with a performance-based increase after 6 months.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Virtual Assistant.
• Experience supporting a US healthcare practice.
• Experience with insurance verification, EOBs, claims, denied claims, patient balances, or billing support.
• Exposure to CPT and ICD-10 codes.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient insurance after check-in and document accurately.
• Review denied claims, identify denial reasons, and assist with reprocessing.
• Review and process Explanation of Benefits documents and clear backlogs.
• Review outstanding balances and coordinate resolution steps.
• Support claims workflows including Cigna and VA claims and escalate when needed.
• Assist with vendor payment coordination and timely completion of tasks.
• Monitor SOAP notes for completion and compliance.
• Track missed/canceled appointments and identify trends affecting revenue.
• Prepare reports on balances, missed/canceled appointments, EOB backlog and other metrics with insights.
• Coordinate clear communication between provider, care team, and admin staff.
• Identify workflow gaps and propose practical improvements.
