Job summary

Ascendis Pharma is seeking a Medical Science Liaison to serve as the external facing medical expert in Medical Affairs. The role focuses on educating healthcare providers about endocrinology products and engaging with key opinion leaders (KOLs) across the geography.

The position is remote and reports to the Director, Field Medical Team. The ideal candidate holds an MD/PhD/PharmD, has 5+ years of pharmaceutical MSL experience, and is comfortable with 50-75% travel.

Qualifications

• MD/PhD/PharmD or equivalent required.
• Minimum 5+ years pharmaceutical experience as an MSL.
• Pediatric endocrinology, endocrinology or rare disease experience preferred.
• Must be outgoing and able to interact with healthcare providers and researchers.
• Estimated travel 50-75%.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the field-based external facing medical representation of Medical Affairs.
• Identify key opinion leaders (KOLs) and key organizations for disease states within a geography.
• Provide medical/scientific presentations to internal and external audiences.
• Develop and maintain a KOL engagement plan that fosters collaborative relationships within geography.
• Capture external insights about the disease state and communicate to internal stakeholders.
• Build strong relationships with internal colleagues and collaborate with MOSLs.
