Job summary

The Chicago School is seeking a part-time Academic Tutor to support IllinoisCOM students remotely. Tutors will conduct individual and group sessions, align with course objectives, and document sessions in the designated system.

Applicants should be MD/DO students in good standing with proven proficiency in relevant subjects, and possess strong communication, confidentiality, and organizational skills. Virtual tutoring from a private space with reliable internet is required.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled and in good standing as a second-, third-, or fourth-year student at an accredited MD or DO granting medical school.
• Demonstrated proficiency in each course or subject area the applicant will tutor, as established through coursework or faculty recommendation.
• Must maintain good academic and professional standing throughout employment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for and facilitate individual and/or group tutoring sessions.
• Document tutoring attendance and services using designated system.
• Protect confidentiality of examinations, student information, and course materials.
• Use study techniques addressing diverse learning needs and styles.
• Provide referrals to campus and community resources when necessary.
• Foster a professional, welcoming environment and effective student relationships.
• Participate in professional development to improve tutoring skills and cultural competence.
