Job summary

Rex.zone is seeking a Medical Robotics Engineer (Remote) to design, implement, and validate robotic systems used in surgery and hospital automation. This role emphasizes safety, verification, and regulatory alignment, with focus on ROS, C++, Python, and real-time software.

The position supports distributed design reviews and cross-functional collaboration with mechanical and electrical teams, while ensuring traceability and audit-ready documentation for ISO standards.

Qualifications

  • Mid-Senior experience in robotics, mechatronics, or related engineering.
  • Strong fundamentals in control systems, kinematics/dynamics, and numerical methods.
  • Hands-on software development in C++ and Python.
  • System integration and debugging across software/firmware/mechanics.
  • Comfort with testing, measurement, and calibration workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement robotics control and motion planning (kinematics, dynamics, trajectory generation).
  • Integrate sensors (encoders, IMUs, force/torque, cameras) and apply sensor fusion for state estimation.
  • Develop and maintain C++/Python modules (ROS/ROS2 where applicable) with real-time considerations.
  • Collaborate with mechanical/electrical teams on calibration, bring-up, and system integration.
  • Plan and execute verification & validation (unit, integration, and system-level protocols and reports).
  • Contribute to risk management (hazard analysis, mitigations, traceability) and safety-related design reviews.
