Sharecare is seeking a Remote, full-time Release of Information Specialist to process requests accurately while protecting patient privacy under HIPAA. You will handle chart retrieval, scanning, data entry and validation, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with policies.

Requirements include a high school diploma, 2 years of medical records experience, proficiency with Word/Excel, 50 wpm typing, and strong organizational skills.

Competenze

• High School Diploma (GED) required.
• Minimum 2 years experience in medical records or similar setting preferred.
• Strong computer skills with Word and Excel required.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Typing speed of 50 wpm.
• Ability to use fax, copier, scanning equipment.
• Willing to learn new equipment and processes quickly.

Mansioni

• Completes release of information requests including retrieving patient's medical chart and returning chart, scanning accurately and transmitting daily.
• Date stamps all requests and highlights pertinent data to facilitate processing.
• Validates requests and authorizations for release of medical information.
• Performs quality checks on all work to assure accuracy, confidentiality, and invoicing.
• Maintain equipment in excellent operating condition (inside and out).
• Provides excellent customer service by being attentive and respectful; confirms understanding and follows through.
• May receive incoming requests including opening mail, telephone inquiries, and retrieving facsimile inquiries.
• Maintains a neat, clean, and professional appearance and observes dress code.
• Maintains a clean and orderly work area and properly stores records and files.
• Maintains working knowledge of state laws and fee structures.
• Works within scope of position and direction; accepts assignments and supports backlog.
• Adheres to client/site policies, HIPAA, and labor regulations.
• Maintains confidentiality and handles privileged information appropriately.
