Job summary

CenterWell Medical Group, part of Humana, is seeking a Medical Director to lead APP collaboration, medical governance, and regulatory oversight across our virtual care platform. You will provide clinical oversight for Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants, ensure compliant high-quality care, and design scalable collaboration structures with multi-state regulatory alignment.

This fully remote role reports to the Regional Medical Director and requires strong leadership and telehealth

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree from an accredited institution.
• Board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, or related primary care.
• Ten unrestricted medical licenses with ability to obtain more.
• At least five years of clinical practice experience.
• Experience serving as collaborating physician for virtual APPs in a multi-state setting.
• Knowledge of telehealth, virtual care delivery, and value-based care models.
• Strong understanding of physician collaboration, APP practice regulations, and healthcare compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead APP collaboration and clinical support across CenterWell Medical Group in a virtual setting.
• Provide consultation for complex cases and scope-of-practice questions.
• Establish standardized physician collaboration models across multiple states.
• Promote evidence-based medicine and clinical practice consistency in virtual care.
• Support APP onboarding and clinician development related to physician collaboration needs.
• Oversee the VSP program and governance for physician coverage.
• Fulfill medical directorship responsibilities for designated legal entities.
• Maintain active multi-state licensure and advise on regulatory considerations.
