Job summary

Humana Inc. in the United States seeks a Medical Director for CenterWell Medical Group's virtual care to lead APP collaboration, governance, and regulatory oversight across multiple states.

You will provide physician consultation, establish standardized collaboration models, and oversee the VSP program while maintaining a limited virtual practice. This fully remote role reports to the Regional Medical Director and offers a 40-hour work week.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
• Board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or geriatrics.
• 10 unrestricted medical licenses and ability to obtain more.
• 5 years of clinical practice experience.
• Experience as collaborating physician for virtual APP in the last two years.
• Knowledge of telehealth, virtual care delivery, and value-based care models.
• Strong understanding of physician collaboration, APP practice regulations, and healthcare compliance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary physician collaborator and clinical resource for NPs and PAs in CenterWell Medical Group's virtual care.
• Provide consultation and guidance for complex clinical cases and scope-of-practice questions.
• Establish standardized physician collaboration models across multiple states.
• Promote evidence-based medicine and consistency across the virtual care organization.
• Support APP onboarding, education, and clinician development related to physician collaboration requirements.
• Lead the VSP physician model and ensure adequate collaboration coverage.
• Set governance standards for VSP physicians and forecast collaboration needs.
• Fulfill Medical Director responsibilities for designated legal entities.
• Maintain licensure for multi-jurisdiction operations and advise on regulatory considerations.
• Develop and review clinical policies; participate in quality and patient safety initiatives.
• Conduct virtual patient visits and leverage insights to improve program design and provider support.
