Job summary

AAPC is seeking a Coding Supervisor to oversee daily coding operations, ensure accurate and compliant coding across clinical departments, and provide leadership, training, and quality assurance for coding staff.

The role collaborates with Revenue Cycle and Compliance teams to optimize reimbursement, supports provider education, and may telecommute with consideration for a fully remote arrangement within Washington State depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Health Information Management or related field preferred.
• Certification CPC/CCS/RHIT/RHIA required; CRC preferred.
• Minimum 5 years medical coding experience, including 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS and FQHC billing.
• English fluency required; English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily coding team operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Conducts audits and reviews coding accuracy, documentation, and billing compliance.
• Develops and delivers coding education for staff and providers.
• Supports cross-training and coverage planning to ensure uninterrupted operations.
• Facilitates communication between coding staff, providers, billing, and compliance teams.
