Qualifications

• Graduate of a Medical Coding Program or Associate's Degree in a healthcare-related field required
• Two years of experience may substitute a degree, in addition to required experience
• Two years of medical coding experience with at least one year in a leadership role for non-HCC roles, or two years of HCC Risk Adjustment experience with at least one year in a leadership role for HCC-specific roles
• CPC, COC, CIC, CCS, CCS-P, CCA, CRC, RHIT, or RHIA certification required on hire, as applicable
• Graduate of Health Information Technology program preferred
• Two years of supervisory experience preferred
• Must reside in approved UW Health remote work state to work remotely
• Ability to work onsite in Madison, Wisconsin periodically
• Availability during primary business hours; hours may vary based on operational needs

Responsibilities

• Provide coaching to coding staff and ensure feedback on improvement areas
• Collaborate with Clinical Documentation Improvement on HCC coding
• Participate in hiring, interviewing, onboarding, and training
• Coordinate staffing schedules to meet quality and production standards
• Work primarily from home in a hybrid arrangement with periodic onsite meetings in Madison, WI
