Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of coding experience preferred.
• Knowledge of ICD-9-CM, ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT/HCPCS coding.
• Experience with EPIC and coding software tools.
• Ability to use 3M encoder and CAC for classification.

Responsibilities

• Reviews medical record documentation and accurately assigns codes using 3M tools for OP work types.
• Abstract data per facility specifications and ensure medical necessity checks are performed.
• Maintain productivity and quality standards while adhering to CMS and AHIMA guidelines.
• Stay current with CMS/CPT/HCPCS guidelines and coding clinics.
