Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a skilled Medical Records Coder to abstract clinical information and assign CPT-4 and ICD-10 codes from medical records supporting physicians’ professional fees, including outpatient E/M and procedures. CPC certification is required, with a minimum of two years coding experience and familiarity with EHR systems.

The role offers 100% remote possibilities and on-site testing in Marlton, NJ, and requires strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years records coding experience or equivalent education.
• Ability to perform functions in a Microsoft Windows environment.
• Experience with an electronic health record system preferred.
• Knowledge of Anatomy & Physiology/ Medical terminology required.
• CPC (Certified Professional Coder) Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Abstract billing for outpatient evaluation and management codes, minor procedures, and HCPCS codes from provider documentation.
• Research coding/billing issues and recommend appropriate coding/billing methods.
• Analyze medical records for coding accuracy and resolve issues with Coding/Charge/Audit teams.
