Job summary

R1 RCM Inc. is seeking a Coding Educator to develop and deliver education on coding guidelines and regulations across clinical specialties. You will plan, organize, direct, and coordinate education and training for coding teams.

To thrive, you must demonstrate success in coder education, auditing, or leadership, with comprehensive knowledge of ancillary, surgical, emergency department, and E/M coding. This is a US-based remote role with a competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Certification in CCS, COC, RHIA, RHIT, or CPC is required.
• Experience in coder education, auditing, or coding leadership is preferred.
• Specialty experience in Ancillary, Surgical, Emergency Medicine, and E/M coding.

Responsibilities

• Audit, educate, and monitor coders for E/M levels, procedures, and diagnosis coding (CPT/ICD-10/HCPCS).
• Develop and update focused education programs and training materials for coding staff.
• Ensure auditing standards and QA requirements are met.
• Provide review and feedback to instructional materials, course plans, and evaluation tools.
• Train onshore and offshore coders on CPT/ICD-10 and HCPCS.
