Qualifications

• AHIMA credentials (RHIA, RHIT, CCS) or AAPC credentials (CPC, CPC-H, COC, CIC or CRC) are required.
• Experience in a high-volume coding environment; strong CPT II knowledge.
• Ability to meet productivity and performance standards.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; adept at remote work and time management.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign CPT, ICD-10-CM, ICD-10 procedures, HCPCS codes.
• Conduct data quality reviews for compliance with coding guidelines.
• Communicate professionally with colleagues and hospital staff about clinical and reimbursement issues.
• Identify documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues.
• Maintain ongoing education and comply with HIPAA and ethics standards.
