Job summary

Datavant is seeking a Provider Practice Coding Consultant who will review medical records, assign precise CPT/ICD codes, and ensure compliance with coding guidelines. The role includes data quality reviews, professional communication with hospital staff, and identifying opportunities to improve documentation and coding accuracy.

Ideal candidates hold AHIMA or AAPC credentials and have experience in high-volume coding environments, with strong time-management and remote-work capabilities.

Qualifications

• AHIMA credentials (RHIA, RHIT, CCS) or AAPC credentials (CPC, CPC-H, COC, CIC or CRC) are required.
• Experience in a high-volume coding environment with CPT II codes is required.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote/structured environment and manage time well.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign precise codes (CPT, ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, HCPCS).
• Conduct data quality reviews to ensure coding compliance with guidelines.
• Communicate professionally with clients, hospital staff, and management on clinical and reimbursement issues.
• Identify documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues.
