Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a skilled medical coder to abstract clinical information and assign CPT-4 and ICD-10 codes from medical records to support physician billing. The role includes research and collaboration with coding teams to ensure accurate coding for outpatient services.

The position requires CPC certification, knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology, and at least two years of coding experience, with on-site testing in Marlton, NJ.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years records coding experience and/or equivalent education (AAPC course or Coding program).
• Ability to perform functions in a Microsoft Windows environment.
• Previous experience with an electronic legal health record system preferred.
• Knowledge of Anatomy & Physiology/ Medical terminology required.
• CPC Certified required.

Responsibilities

• Abstract billing for outpatient evaluation and management (E/M) codes and related HCPCS codes.
• Research coding/billing issues for physicians to identify the most appropriate method of coding/billing.
• Analyze medical records to determine coding accuracy and ethics in collaboration with Coding/Charge/Audit teams.
