Job summary

Omega Healthcare Management Services seeks a remote Medical Coder to abstract, code, sequence and interpret clinical information from inpatient, outpatient, pro fee records and ensure accurate principal and secondary codes. This role emphasizes DRG/APC reimbursement and compliance with AHIMA/AMA/CMS guidelines.

Successful completion of an AHIMA/APC coding certificate and 2–4 years of current production coding in acute care and pro fee is required; CPC/CCS-P or equivalent credentials are

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an AHIMA- or AAPC-approved Coding Certificate Program.
• Minimum of two to four years of current production coding experience in acute care and professional fee coding.
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or CCS-P, or equivalent credential required.

Responsibilities

• Abstract and code inpatient, outpatient, pro fee and other clinical records.
• Assign principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures with correct sequencing.
• Apply coding guidelines and DRG/APC rules for accurate reimbursement.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS and accrediting bodies and monitor accuracy.
• Track productivity and sustain 95% quality rating.
