Job summary

Omega Healthcare Management Services seeks a skilled medical coder to abstract and code clinical data across inpatient, outpatient, ED, and professional services. You will assign principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures with precise sequencing, applying DRG/APC reimbursement knowledge to ensure accurate coding.

The role requires 2–4 years of current production coding experience (facility and pro-fee), completion of an AAPC/AHIMA Coding Certificate, and Epic experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of an AAPC or AHIMA-certified Coding Certificate Program.
• Minimum of two to four years of current production coding experience in both acute care and professional services (pro-fee).
• Epic experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Abstract and code clinical data from inpatient, outpatient, ED, pro fee and clinical records.
• Assign principal/secondary diagnoses and principal/secondary procedures with correct sequencing.
• Utilize DRG/APC reimbursement expertise to assign appropriate codes.
• Abstracts and codes data into multiple software programs/encoders per client requirements.
• Follow official coding guidelines and HIPAA compliance; ensureHealth Information compliance.
