Job summary

AAPC is seeking a professional medical coder for a remote role. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of coding experience in physician practices and holds CPC or CCS-P certification.

You will code a range of E/M specialties, stay updated on coding rules, and maintain HIPAA protections while delivering accurate, timely reports for customers. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of coding experience in physician practices.
• CPC or CCS-P certification required.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and coding rules.

Responsibilities

• Accurately code medical records for evaluation and management services, ancillary services, surgical procedures, and diagnoses.
• Work independently to meet project deadlines and stay current with coding updates.
• Prepare coding reports and maintain confidentiality of patient information per HIPAA policies.
• Maintain production and quality standards and ensure timely, accurate coding deliverables.
