Job summary

DaMar Staffing seeks a Contract Coder for a fully remote role in the United States. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of coding experience in physician practices, covering multiple specialties and E/M, with strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities include coding medical records, staying current with coding rules, maintaining HIPAA compliance, and preparing client reports. CPC or CCS-P certification is required; CPMA/CEMC/other credentials are a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of coding experience in physician practices and with various surgical specialties including E/M.
• Extensive coding across primary care, anesthesia, general surgery, dermatology, and orthopedics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
• Sound knowledge of medical terminology and strong computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Accurately code medical records for evaluation and management services, ancillary services, procedures, and diagnoses.
• Work independently and meet project deadlines.
• Stay updated on new coding rules as codes change.
• Maintain HIPAA security and protect patient information; report any breaches.
• Prepare coding reports for customers and the services manager.
• Meet department production and quality standards; manage time effectively.
