Job summary

ThedaCare is seeking a remote Coder (Clinic - II) to review and assign CPT and ICD-10-CM codes for primary care and specialty services for ThedaCare Physician Services. This full-time position supports accurate coding, audits medical records, and educates providers on coding standards.

You will collaborate with clinicians and departments, manage denials and edits for timely reimbursement, research payer policies, and ensure complete charge capture.

Qualifications

• Coding certificate or associate’s degree in medical business or coding/health information.
• One year of experience in general medical or specialty coding.
• Coding certification through AAPC or AHIMA (CPC, CPC-A or CCS or CCS-P).
• High School diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and/ or assigns CPT and/ or diagnosis codes (ICD-10-CM) for primary care and/ or specialty clinic services with accuracy.
• Performs documentation reviews and shares results with providers and auditing team.
• Collaborates with providers and clinical staff to ensure coding accuracy.
• Manages payer denials and claim edits to ensure timely reimbursement.
• Researches payer policies.
• Maintains operational coding functions to ensure charge capture of all billable services.
• Delivers world class service to customers, responding to inquiries promptly and professionally.
