Job summary

Concord Hospital is seeking a Remote Coding Specialist to review demographics and clinical records, assign ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT/HCPCS codes, and enter data into our electronic system. You will work across ED, observation, outpatient, and ancillary encounters using encoder tools and AI-assisted platforms.

Applicants should have a minimum of 1 year of health information coding experience and relevant credentials (CCS/CCS-P/CIC/COC).

Qualifications

• Certified coding credentials required: CCS, CCS-P, CIC, or COC.
• Minimum 1 year of health care coding experience.
• Strong knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM coding guidelines.
• Experience with encoder software and AI-assisted coding platforms.
• Excellent communication and remote collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze EMR to identify episodes of care and assign accurate ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT/HCPCS codes.
• Ensure data integrity for compliance, quality reporting, and reimbursement purposes.
• Prioritize daily work queues to support DNFB reduction and timely billing.
• Query physicians when documentation is incomplete or unclear and document appropriately.
• Participate in audits and coder education; adapt to coding updates and guidelines.
