Job summary

Preferred candidates hold or are pursuing credentials such as CCA/CCS/CCS-P, CPC variants, and RHIA/RHIT, with prior coding experience beneficial. Remote position within the United States.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding
• Familiarity with medical terminology and billing processes
• Ability to interpret documentation and coding guidance

Responsibilities

• Review medical records to identify facts for diagnoses and procedures
• Code evaluations and management to CPT; diagnose to ICD-9 (note: historical) codes
• Meet with physicians to review documentation and obtain signatures
• Assist coders and staff with medical terminology and policy interpretation
• Help increase physician awareness of documentation requirements
• Prepare case reports and initiate follow-up for billing processes
