Job summary

ProMedica is seeking a Coder to accurately code diagnoses, procedures and services to ensure precise medical records and billing. You will work with providers to ensure documentation is clear and complete and will review claim edits for timely correction.

The role codes for both practice and hospital charges across departments supported by the Professional Billing Office. A High School diploma, 1 year coding experience, and CPC/CCS-P/RHIT/RHIA certification (or within 90 days) are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Proficient in ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS coding.
• Certification CPC, CCS-P, RHIT or RHIA required, or must obtain within 90-day probationary period.
• Minimum of 1 year of physician/professional coding experience.

Responsibilities

• Code diagnoses, procedures and other services to ensure medical records and billing are accurate.
• Collaborate with providers to ensure documentation is clear and complete.
• Review claim edits and correct errors in a timely fashion.
• Code for practice and hospital charges for all departments supported by the Professional Billing Office.
