Optum is seeking a professional medical coder in the United States who can assign accurate ICD-10 and CPT codes for Primary Care and Family Medicine. You will monitor queues, generate coding queries, and stay current with coding changes while meeting deadlines with minimal supervision.

Requires AHIMA/AAPC credentialing and 2+ years of experience in medical coding, plus proficiency with Windows, Excel, and EMR systems (Epic). Telecommuting role with comprehensive benefits and competitive pay.

Qualifications

• Ahima/AAPC CPC credential required and maintained annually.
• 2+ years of PC experience in Windows environment (MS Excel).
• 2+ years of ICD-10 and CPT coding focus in Primary Care/Family Medicine.

Responsabilités

• Assigns accurate diagnostic and procedure codes per guidelines.
• Assigns CPT and ICD-10 codes to all services.
• Monitors work queues to ensure timely charging/coding.
• Generates coding queries for documentation clarification.
• Stays current with coding conventions and updates.
• Manages workload and meets deadlines under supervision.
• All other duties as assigned
