Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of medical coding experience, orthopedics preferred.
• CPC or AAPC certification required.
• Advanced knowledge of ICD, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
• Experience with EPIC systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Code physician, clinical, and surgical claims from documentation.
• Review EHR/operative notes to verify CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes.
• Provide on-site coding education and feedback to providers on coding changes.
• Keep up with payer regulations and coding guideline changes.
• Perform precertification by assigning ICD-10 and CPT codes.
• Ensure data accuracy for reimbursement and HIPAA compliance.
