Job summary

OrthoConnecticut is seeking a skilled Medical Coder to review operative reports, assign CPT and ICD-10 codes, and enter charges into the practice management system. You will audit charge tickets, ensure accuracy, and support the Billing Department with claims resolutions and appeals.

The ideal candidate has CPC or CCS certification, 2+ years in medical coding within a private practice, and solid knowledge of anatomy.

Qualifications

• Certified CPC or CCS with active certification.
• 2+ years coding in a medical office.
• Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology.
• Familiarity with Athena billing software.
• Strong computer and MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Review operative reports to identify diagnoses and procedures for coding.
• Enter charges into the practice management system and ensure CPT/ICD-10 accuracy.
• Auditing charge tickets to maximize reimbursement.
• Assist AR with claims resolution and denials review.
• Provide coding support across departments.
