Washington University in St. Louis is seeking a Medical Coding Specialist to review clinical documentation and assign accurate CPT and ICD-10 codes. This remote role may require campus visits occasionally.

The candidate will collaborate with physicians and coders to ensure complete documentation and timely billing. A strong background in medical coding, associated credentials, and knowledge of ICD-10/CPT is essential.

Formación

• Associate degree or higher in Medical Coding & Billing or related field.
• Certification/credential requirements include AHIMA or AAPC credentials.
• Familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT coding.
• Strong computer skills and medical terminology knowledge.

Responsabilidades

• Review medical records to identify facts for diagnoses and procedures.
• Code evaluation and management to appropriate CPT and ICD-10 codes.
• Meet with physicians to review documentation and secure signatures.
• Assist with coding policy interpretation and staff support as needed.
• Educate physicians on documentation requirements to improve coding accuracy.
• Prepare case reports and initiate follow-up for billing processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
